Would You Want This in Your Home, Office, or School?

http://twitter.com/chrispirillo – I don’t know about you, but I love being able to interact with technology using my fingertips. Perhaps I would have paid more attention in class if the teacher was using something like this (from Smart Technologies).

My middle and high …
My middle and high school both have these in every room. They are the worst pieces of “technology” I have ever experienced. The projector is abysmal (pixels are visible from the back of the room), the touch capabilities are barely usable (need to be calibrated every half-hour), the speakers are horrendous (cut out above around 90dB), and the software… *shudders*
I’ll put it this way, I could produce an equivalent product for around $70 out of a Wii remote and some infrared LEDs.

As previously …
As previously stated your school for whom whiteboards “are not neccesary” seem very determined to aquire one. From your initial post you stated “We hope to gain at least one by the end of the school year” so why the change of opinion?

Third highest grade …
Third highest grade! Really? Comprehensive? CE? RC? Independant? Academy? I am very impressed. You still maintain my grammar is bad, with your very impressive A+ would you care to explain why? Part of being a teacher is the ability to innovate and your teacher will agree with this. You seem to be very aware of the art of pedagogy, if this is so why are you wasting your time with me? You must become an adviser to the government instead of a student councilor!

Furthermore, if …
Furthermore, if your school is the best in your area, then how do you account for your appalling use of grammar and punctuation? Personally, if that is the level that your school teaches you at I would never accept a position there. I am perfectly happy in my school with excellent levels of learning in literacy, which you would clearly benefit from. Nothing has been elicited that proves or disproves my effective teaching strategies, again an unfounded opinion.

Okay, that is your …
Okay, that is your opinion and you’re entitled to it. They are neccessary and there are mountains of evidence to prove that it enhances learning. Interaction is independant learning which enables pupils to scaffold themselves to the correct solution INDEPENDANTLY through visual learning. Even kinaesthetic learners and aural learners benefit from the use of IWBs. There is nothing wrong with my use of English. However your punctuation and grammar is still a joke. Your opinion would not stretch.

My school district …
My school district has one of these in almost every classroom ( 2 middle schools, 1 highschool, and 1 vocational school) It’s funny that they have enough money for those, yet they had to stop all busing and honors classes because they “didn’t have enough money”… They also just built two new (probably unnecessary) elementary schools…
