A British film about computers from 1969. It is presented here as a historical look at how computers used to be in the 1960’s when PC’s and Macs were over 10 years away.
Shown in three parts. Sorry, but the 16mm print is rather battered!
To my surprise this clip was featured in ‘The Guardian’ newspaper’s Technology supplement on Thursday December 6th 2007.

I want to prove that American aren’t ignorant this topic is a good place the first ever machanical computer was built by a brit called Charles Babbege the decipher machine was a BRITISH invention that was an early computer so the brits invented the cmputer but we americans will try to distort history to make us look good as always

In the UK for some …
In the UK for some reason is is spelt cheque, although it is said as check like the geezer in the film did, although the other kind of check is spelt the same. It does makes more sense to spell it check like in the US. Most of the spelling diffrences between you guys and us revolves around not having u’s like in colour ie color in the States. The reason I was told for the diffrence was the yanks not wanting to spell things the french way which seems a good reason. Anyway peace out.
