There are plenty of great and legitimate online jobs available through the Internet that you can do to earn money every month. Using the Internet as a source for individuals who need or want a job working from home is essential but it also gives the potential scam artist an opportunity to scam the naive entrepreneur. There are a number of things you should beware of if you are going to work from home and try making money online.
Here are some things you can do to protect yourself from being scammed.
1. Research, Research, Research! Go to forums created for or about the topic you are interested in and see what others are saying. Ask questions!
2. Check with the Better Business Bureau at: http://www.bbb.org/ they have search capabilities to check for complaints and legitimacy of a business.
3. Never sign up for an unsolicited email offer. Better yet never open one of these emails they are usually spam anyway. Make sure your spam filter is set to catch spam emails.
4. Go to the site contact page and send an email to the offering company or website and see if you get a real person to answer you. If you get an automated message or no response it’s time to move on without looking back.
5. Never buckle under high pressure sales tactics. You know the ones…Hurry only 3 left…You all have seen a timer counting down on the sales page giving you the impression once it runs out so does your chance “Wrong”…This offer will close forever when they are gone. Believe me if this product is making money it’s not going anywhere and if it is a scam you just saved yourself some stress and money.
6. Websites that offer you products, systems or training that will make you supper rich in a very short time isn’t where you need to be or a product you want. The only way you are going to get rich over night is to win the lottery or when great uncle Joe dies and leaves you his fortune.
7. Remember if it sounds to good to be true…It Probably Is!!! Don’t walk, Run away! There are many, many good and legitimate sites out there.
Advertising statements like “Earn Big Money Fast” or “Sally Rich Made Thousands of Dollars in One Week” are unreal statements for the beginner and are used to reel in the unsuspecting person. The old saying: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, believe it. Plus, before you get too involved with a particular website, you need to be aware of who or what you are getting involved in. A legitimate website offering individuals an opportunity to make money from home will not have an issue giving details about its self. You need to know when the website was established and who and how to get in touch with whoever runs the site. If the site is asking for a security deposit or a membership fee, be very careful! Some of these websites are traps for the unknowing person who doesn’t know any better. These websites often take your membership fees on a monthly basis but offer little usable information while you are a member.
If you are looking for a work at home online job, you can reduce your chances of getting scammed if you search the right places to find these kinds of jobs. There are many websites that offer work at home jobs you can do. Many of these websites have a bidding system to win the projects where you are submitting your offer to a real person and not a website. Some legitimate websites include Elance.com, Freelancer.com, and Guru.com etc. You should never consider getting involved with an online job that is advertised through spam emails even if the job offered sounds promising. These kinds of email should be left right where it is, in your spam email box. By doing so, you can avoid wasting your time and ending up with bigger problems.
Be wary of any sites that ask for your personal information. Some scammers will even ask you for information such as your credit card numbers, social security number, etc. Tell me when and when was the last time that an employer offline asked for your credit card details on a job application? These kinds of sites are a pure hoax and need to be avoided as well.
Although it is extremely feasible and very possible to earn money online by working from home, the only way this will actually be realized is through much hard work. It’s not logical for you to think you will be able to make thousands of dollars on your computer by only working a couple of hours a week. Don’t you think if it really was that easy, that everyone would be working online from home? You must make a real commitment and have a mindset that you are now working for yourself and not at a 9 to 5 job at an employer business. And the only way that you are truly going to be successful at this kind of endeavor is if you put in the time and effort it takes to learn the ropes, establish relationships, and reap the rewards.
