In honor of Tom Snyder, and for the sake of historical interest.
Tom is fascinated by Durk’s and Jerry’s prognostications about the(ir) future of publishing, computers and technology in general. Jerry describes his amazing Cromemco Z80-based computerized “glass screen” that allows him to edit his novels with ease, recording them on “magnetic records” before printing the manuscripts on paper using an “automatic typewriter” and mailing them to the publisher. Durk describes the theory behind flat panel TVs. Speculation regarding the connection of wavelength to holographic television ensues which leaves Tom flabbergasted. Jerry predicts the demise of old-fashioned newsprint. Jerry then tells the story of how much computer technology had shrunk since the old days of the Iliac. Somehow the discussion then turns to asteroid mining. Go figure.

A revolution has occurred in tactical lighting products. If you thought or still think the Maglite is the best flashlight made, or even a SureFire, Blackhawk, or Pentagon light (all good but way $$$), you are way behind the times dude. Things have changed: there some amazingly high-value, high quality flashlights in nowadays that could re-define what you think a flashlight can do. And this revolution will probably continue to evolve and improve as time goes on. These days lighting technology is akin to computer technology, with new generations quickly outpacing and obsolescing older technology. But fret not and dont think you have to wait for even better lights. Thats because right now the Fenix brand is producing amazingly capable lights for around $50. How about a 2 AA powered flashlight to puts out 180 lumens?! Nowadays the Fenix company is offering overseas-produced, ultra-high quality CREE-brand LED lights with amazing output and duration. Moreover these lights are digitally regulated to ensure consistent output despite a varying output battery, theyre lightweight, waterproof, tough, and have a host various output modes. In the Fenix L2DQ5 and the P3DQ models, you can select from multiple brightness levels uses the rear mounted switch and a slight rotation of the bezels. A bright strobe mode is included (shown in the video). Also several useful accessories are available like the very useful light cone (also shown here). These are lifestyle changing lightsclick play an d watch as Nutnfancy demonstrates these two lights in the pitch black of his Tactical Clinic in the desert. ****Nutnfancys Likeability Scale: 10 out of 10. Look for Nutnfancys table top reviews of these excellent lights in the future which will include his Philosophy of Use (PoU). Lights purchased from Yourcornerstore.com (excellent source) for around $50 each.

Part 2 is here !
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THaam5mwIR8&feature=channel
Edit: Seeing as this video has gained a fair amount of interest, I’ll post a quick description of how it works here… This description can be found on their site, via the link above.
How does it work?
If you have a background in the industry you know the above pictures are impossible. A computer cant have unlimited power and it cant process unlimited point cloud data because every time you process a point it must take up some processor time. But I assure you, it’s real and it all works.
Unlimited Details method is very different to any 3D method that has been invented so far. The three current systems used in 3D graphics are Ray tracing polygons and point cloud/voxels, they all have strengths and weaknesses. Polygons runs fast but has poor geometry, Ray-trace and voxels have perfect geometry but run very slowly.
Unlimited Detail is a fourth system, which is more like a search algorithm than a 3D engine. It is best explained like this: if you had a word document and you went to the SEARCH tool and typed in a word like MONEY the search tool quickly searches for every place that word appeared in the document. Google and Yahoo are also search engines that go looking for things very quickly. Unlimited Detail is basically a point cloud search algorithm. We can build enormous worlds with huge numbers of points, then compress them down to be very small. The Unlimited Detail engine works out which direction the camera is facing and then searches the data to find only the points it needs to put on the screen it doesnt touch any unneeded points, all it wants is 1024*768 (if that is our resolution) points, one for each pixel of the screen. It has a few tricky things to work out, like: what objects are closest to the camera, what objects cover each other, how big should an object be as it gets further back. But all of this is done by a new sort of method that we call MASS CONNECTED PROCESSING. Mass connected processing is where we have a way of processing masses of data at the same time and then applying the small changes to each part at the end.
The result is a perfect pure bug free 3D engine that gives Unlimited Geometry running super fast, and it’s all done in software.

What are the Benefits of Magniwork?
By constructing the magniwork power generator, you will be able to generate completely free electric energy, meaning , create energy without needing any source of renewable or non-renewable energy. The generator powers itself and creates energy by itself, without requiring solar energy, heat, water, coal or any kind of resource. This generator powers itself and works indefinitely, without stopping, creating a large amount of energy. Here are some of the benefits that Magniwork has:
Works in every home, it requires only a small amount of space
You can eliminate your power bill by 50% or even completely, depending on how you implement the magniwork generator
Works in all condition, can work in extreme hot or cold without any problem
The Material needed to build the magniwork generator is cheap and easily accessible anywhere in the world
We have simplified the process, The steps are easy to follow, even a complete novice would be able to follow them
Contains a bonus chapter about the backgrounds and history of Magniwork
Our easy-to-follow guide will show you how to construct the Magniwork free energy generator, which will run infinitely and create free electric energy. This method has been thoroughly researched, and is currently considered as a possible mean of completely solving the energy crisis. A Magnetic Perpetual Motion Device much like Magniwork refers to a device that works perpetually i.e. indefinitely, and produces more energy than it consumes, which ultimately results in a surplus of electrical energy which can be used to power your home.

I know with the recession job placement is hard. but what specific computer technology career I can almost be guarantee job placement after graduaction. IT, Networking, programming, engineer etc? Thanks
There are no guarantees. All computer/IT fields have lowered hiring expectations and you will be competing with folks who have experience and been laid off. Pick what you like to do.
Audio Video Revolutions is pretty good, although geared towards audiophiles and people who think a $500 power cable is well worth it.

I’m attending a community college and I plan on getting an AA in Computer Information Technology. After I graduate what types of jobs can I look for? What would be the titles of these types of jobs?
Should I transfer to a Cal State University? (I live in California)
I asked my counselor if I could transfer and she looked at me like I was dumb, then she said to "just start with an AA". I don’t know what that means??
Thanks!
Right now there are many IT jobs posted in the online Job Boards, but many require a B.S.I.T. and not juts an A.A.
Check out Yahoo HotJobs, Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com.
I will be running a Pioneer Elite reciever (vsx-82tvx). They will be in a large living room, 18×12 (20ft ceilings), any suggestions on a sub would be appreciated as well, Thanks!
Whatever brand you get, DON’T bother with "bi-polar" speakers…What you need is ALL of your speakers to be IDENTICAL…Don’t bother with "designated" CENTER and REAR…Most movie soundtracks are mixed on 5 or 6 huge IDENTICAL speakers…Not TWO towers in the front and some BOSE CUBES in the rear.
You need to go down to your local electronics store, take your favorite CD with you and DEMO both brands…When you find a pair you like, just get 3 pair of that same make and model…You won’t regret it…But trust YOUR ears on which speakers to get…You’re the one that has to live with them.
But for SUBS….The VELODYNE is top notch…They’re not as good as they used to be, but pound for pound they still pack a punch…But remember NOT to buy "bi-polar" or even "di-polar" speakers…Your FRONTS should be the SAME as you REAR.

I’m 16 and I’v decided that I want a career in engineering. So, I signed up for duel enrollment at this community college, it’s called Computer System’s technology, I know that this basically involves fixing computers however, I’m not sure if this will actually be a benefit to me when it comes to computer engineering.
I could totally be a dick right now but ill be nice
There is a wide variety of types of computer engineers and if your gonna be 1 you definitely have to know your computer components and the basics of how they function and work if your going to do anything in the field of computers and people who work on setting up systems are basically engineers. Basically it comes down to what type of engineer in the computer industry do you want to be
this would make having a clean keyboard much easier.
a keyboard is diff from a monitor
a touch screen monitor is a special monitor that has sensors in it
a new one at work was 8" and $1000
they might be cheaper now tho
then your screen would just get dirty
just wash your hands
